Adidas Commits to Using Only Recycled Plastics by 2024

Adding to its effort to increase the sustainability of its supply chain, Adidas has committed to using only recycled polyester in all its shoes and clothing by 2024. Currently, about 50 percent of the material used in a number of Adidas’ products is virgin polyester.

Adidas’ announcement builds on its moves to use more recycled material in its products. In 2016, the brand made a running shoe made from recycled water bottles, and in 2012, the brand’s uniforms for volunteers at the Olympic Games in London were made from reused water bottles.
