A total of 5,592 pounds of food waste has been collected at local farmers markets to be composted.
Since Emmet County Recycling in Michigan launched its composting program, a total of 5,592 pounds of food waste has been collected at local farmers markets to be composted.
Although the farmers markets will soon close down for the season, Emmet County Recycling will continue to offer food scrap drop-off services at the indoor farmers markets at the Crooked Tree Arts Center and at the Pleasantview Drop-off Center in Harbor Springs.
