Oregon utility regulators approve community solar framework

The Oregon Public Utility Commission has approved rules creating a framework for utility community solar programs that are expected to total about 160 megawatts in an initial phase.

However, the PUC has more work to do before community solar programs can get going in the state, according to solar advocates.

“Credit value certainty is critical to jumpstarting project development in Oregon,” the Coalition for Community solar Access said June 29 when the PUC approved the rules.
