OSU Receives Grant to Reduce Food Waste in Campus Dining Halls

Oregon State University recently received a $27,000 grant from the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality’s Materials Management program to reduce food waste in campus dining halls

With the grant, the university will install LeanPath, a food waste prevention technology that enables commercial kitchens to dramatically reduce food waste and operate more sustainable facilities. The system is equipped with a scale and camera so the university can identify where the food waste is being generated and where wasted food can be prevented.
