In advance of hurricane season, Waste Management has unveiled a list of tips for hurricane preparation and recovery planning.
Weeks out from hurricane season, residents and businesses should maintain their landscaping and clean out their storage areas. Three days before a storm, residents and businesses should secure garbage and recycling containers, stop all landscaping activities and bundle and tie down loose trash. After a storm, residents and businesses should separate normal household trash from storm debris and place their waste, recyclables and storm debris at the curb for collection.
