On Thursday, the Michigan State Transportation Commission (STC) approved the Michigan Department of Transportation’s final Five-Year Transportation Program (5YTP) outlining the state’s transportation priorities from 2024-2028.
The 5YTP contains a list of planned projects for the MDOT Highway Program including state-maintained roads, bridges, and facilities; as well as information on the Public Transportation, Rail and Aeronautics programs in the state. The document will help connect the department’s long-range goals and asset management strategies with project programming as well as budget targets and performance measures. The plan was opened to public comment between Aug. 7 and Sept. 9, 2023.
