Mich. utility pulls $15 mil plan to build EV charging stations

Consumers Energy has withdrawn its request to implement a $15 million program to build plug-in electric vehicle charging stations in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula.

The utility, a subsidiary of investor-owned utility CMS Energy, withdrew its proposal after staff of the state’s Public Service Commission recommended against approval of the program. The proposal also attracted opposition from the state’s attorney general and private sector companies.
