Austin Energy expects to acquire up to 150 MW of solar through RFP

Austin Energy expects to acquire up to 150 megawatts of solar capacity under a request for proposals that the public power utility recently issued.

In the RFP, which was issued in April, Austin Energy said that it will consider the long-term purchase of energy, capacity and associated environmental attributes/renewable energy credits from utility-scale renewable solar energy resources.

The solicitation requires that the solar energy resources be located with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas service region.
