California utilities say PG&E transmission rates are ‘excessive’

A number of public power agencies and public power utilities in California have asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to do something about the latest transmission rates proposed by investor-owned Pacific Gas & Electric Company, calling them “excessive.”

On March 31, the California parties filed a formal complaint against PG&E with FERC under Section 206 of the Federal Power Act and under Rule 206 of the commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure. They asked FERC to order an investigation into PG&E’s “transmission owner,” or TO, rates.
