Mt. Sterling, Kentucky Enacts New Waste Regulations

Residents of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky have not been disposing their waste properly. Beginning October 1, City officials have enacted new regulations for storage, handling, collection and disposal of trash.

New provisions include: all trash should be placed in containers or in a sealed bag for collection; trash should be placed curbside or directly beside the street; trash and containers should not block pedestrians from using sidewalks or create a hazard for vehicles on the street; trash should not be placed out for collection more than 24 hours before scheduled pickup; and trash or containers may not be placed on property other than their own.
