A new report from Ocean Conservancy tracked the amount of trash found and cleaned up on beaches around the globe in a 24-hour period. In California alone, the trash collected weighed a total of 840,000 pounds.
Top items collected include cigarette butts, food wrappers and plastic beverage bottles.
