The holiday season may have come and gone, but consumers and businesses are continuing to send massive amounts of cardboard boxes to recycling centers. This material uptick is due to a record online holiday shopping season.
In 2017, Amazon shipped more than five billion items for Prime members and the U.S. Postal Service delivered about 10 percent more packages than in 2016.
