Telecom execs, industry leaders react to chaos at the U.S. Capital

While the nation looked on in horror as hundreds of pro-Trump rioters stormed the U.S. Capital on Wednesday, telecom execs and industry leaders took to Twitter.

Dating back to 2016, telecommunications executives were bullish on President Donald Trump’s election as the nation’s 45th president, but that luster has long since worn off for some of them.

Trump endeared himself to CEOs and executives of all stripes when he announced his Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in 2017. At the time, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson was one of the most vocal proponents of corporate tax cuts, endorsing the idea that it would lead to higher wages for workers.
