N.Y.’s Seneca County Considering 10-Year Solid Waste Plan

Officials from Seneca County, N.Y., which is home to the state’s largest active landfill, are taking the first step toward development of a 10-year solid waste management plan.

The Seneca Meadows landfill has been a hot button topic in recent months. Seneca Meadows applied for a 10-year extension in April, but no decision has been made. The landfill was also set to receive waste-by-rail from New York City in a $3.3 billion contract. But that proposal was withdrawn.
