On Friday the Biden Administration announced it will be funding projects to recycle nuclear waste from power plants. A portion of this funding will be going to through reprocessing, which is not a commonly practiced technology in the United States due to its cost and proliferation. The project will be called the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy, or ARPA-E, and include $38 million in funding. The goal of the project is to recycle spent fuel and bolster the development of nuclear power in the US.
