The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) recently released its 2045 Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), establishing the priorities and critical transportation strategies that will guide project investments.
“Long-range planning is an important function of PennDOT in that it compels us to evaluate our current conditions, anticipate future needs, and begin preparing for a preferred future,” Larry Shifflet, PennDOT deputy secretary for planning, said. “Planning for reliable transportation investments ensures that we provide the infrastructure and pathway for people to connect with families, health care, social services, local communities, and jobs. The LRTP plays a critical role in how we invest in various forms of transportation for the future.”
