Toy Companies are Becoming Eco-Friendly

The COVID-19 pandemic has created a surge for toys as more people are staying home.

Many of the large toy companies are working to become eco-friendlier by reducing the amount of plastic in their toys. Both the production and disposal of the plastic used to produce toys creates greenhouse gas emissions.

For instance, Uno, the card game, now has a 100 percent recyclable deck of cards and the company is removing cellophane from its packaging by 2021. Lego will use recyclable paper for its packaging instead of single-use plastic and by 2025, all packaging will be made from renewable or recycled material.
