FRA announces $8.2B in passenger rail projects

On Monday, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) announced it had awarded $8.2 billion for 10 passenger rail projects, and identified corridors across the country for future development.

The awarded, part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, will bring the total invested in America’s railroad system to nearly $30 billion, officials said. The investment includes 10 ready for construction projects in 9 states and 69 corridors across 44 states for future development.
