New York utilities present 5-year DER plans

Last week, New York’s six investor-owned utilities submitted five-year plans to add distributed energy resources (DERs) to the electric grid, EnergyWire reported.

The plans proposed ways to modernize the grid without a complete grid overhaul, instead using efficiency, storage and other technology solutions to accommodate the region’s increasing power demand.
