N.Y. regulators require utilities to deploy at least two storage projects

The New York Public Service Commission on March 9 issued an order that, among other things, directs the state’s investor-owned utilities to deploy at least two energy-storage projects by the end of 2018.

The energy storage requirement is part of a broader order by the commission to improve utility planning under the state’s Reforming the Energy Vision initiative, New York’s strategy to build a cleaner, more resilient and affordable energy system.
