While utilities and regulators are aware of the problem and are working to help, potential solutions can be complex and challenging to implement. One near-term step could be to leverage detailed and high-interval consumption data that’s already available in most meters, but underutilized for a variety of solvable reasons, to increase customer transparency, improve bill predictability, and provide relevant, actionable, and personalized insights and support.
