Italian Oil & Gas Giant Opens Municipal Solid Waste to Fuel Plant

Syndial, the environmental services company of Rome based multinational oil and gas firm, Eni, has taken first step in its journey toward building industrial-scale plants to produce bio-oil from municipal solid waste as operations begin at a pilot plant located at the existing Gela refinery.

The plant transforms Organic Fraction of Municipal Solid Waste (OFMSW) by recycling it into bio-oil, which can then be used to produce next-generation fuels.
