Recycling Facility Focused on Steel Breaks Ground in West Virginia

A new facility is on its way to Martinsburg, W.Va. that will recycle steel and scrap metal into useful products.

Metals Company, a Texas-based company, held a ceremony this week to break ground for its new metals recycling plant to be built in Martinsburg that will focus on rebar.

“With the I-81 corridor, you can be anywhere within 4-5 hours you’ll be within two-thirds of the country’s population so there are shipping opportunities here. Also, it really expands our tax base and diversifies our workforce. That’s really important to us,” Commissioner Eddie Gochenour said.
