Finding that that people have been dumping garbage, e-waste and other non-recyclable items at its bins, Miami County in Missouri is installing video cameras to monitor where the contamination is coming from.
The recycling trailers are provided by Deffenbaugh Industries, which also operates the county’s transfer station.
When the recycling bins get contaminated, though, the items end up in the landfill instead of the recycling center, McMahon said.
