Working in the United States Department of Energy for 30 years, Ed McGinnis has seen firsthand the U.S. government’s failed effort to build a nuclear waste repository in Yucca Mountain, Nevada.
The project would have been the nation’s most significant long-term nuclear waste solution, however, McGinnis says both political parties claim there is no adequate solution, and gave up on the possibility.
