Windsor, Calif., Reconsiders its $52M Waste Contract

The Windsor, Calif., City Council voted 4-1 to reconsider its waste contract with Green Waste Recovery Inc., stating there are unresolved issues with the company’s proposed Petaluma transfer station.

Although the proposed location for the transfer station is zoned for industrial uses, council members are concerned about possible groundwater contamination and the site’s close proximity to residential homes, retail stores and offices and a youth-oriented gymnastics facility.
