NJ public power towns tell FERC their transmission rate ROE is too high

Three New Jersey communities that own their own public power utilities have filed a complaint with federal regulators, asking them to reduce the transmission rates the towns have been paying to their transmission service provider, investor-owned Public Service Electric & Gas Company. PSE&G is a subsidiary of holding company PSEG.

The boroughs of Milltown, Park Ridge and South River filed a complaint with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on May 9, asking the commission to determine that PSE&G’s transmission rates are unjust and unreasonable under Section 206 of the Federal Power Act.
