Two Bills Target Recycling, Disposal of Wind Turbine Blades

The Wyoming House of Representatives recently passed two bills targeting the recycling and disposal of wind turbine blades. House Bill 217 would ban the disposal of wind turbine blades in state landfills, while House Bill 129 would allow only the base material of blades and towers to be buried in abandoned coal mine sites, according to an Oil City News report.

Casper Regional Landfill has been accepting wind turbine blades, but Rawlins Times reports that over time, the blades could have a larger impact on the state both environmentally and economically.
